Synopsis

This book explores not only historical milestones and pedagogical advances, but also personal stories that, over the generations, have contributed to the construction of a vibrant educational community. In each chapter, we delve into educational policies, the restructuring of teaching, pedagogical innovations, and advances in access to education, providing a panoramic view that ranges from the founding of the first schools, marked by religious influence, to the modern educational institutions that shape the future of our young people.

Author Biography

Paulo Victor de Oliveira, Universidade Federal do Piauí - UFPI

Paulo Victor de Oliveira was born in São Benedito-CE, but raised in Ibiapina-CE, where his family roots are. He considers himself an Ibiapina native. He holds a degree in Biological Sciences from the Vale do Acaraú State University (UVA, Sobral-CE) and a Bachelor of Laws from the Piauí State University (UESPI, Picos-PI). He also holds a Master's degree in Geosciences, with a concentration in Paleontology, from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS, Porto Alegre-RS) and a PhD in Geosciences, with a concentration in Sedimentary and Environmental Geology, from the Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE, Recife-PE). He is currently an Associate Professor at the Federal University of Piauí, Senador Helvídio Nunes de Barros Campus, in Picos (UFPI-CSHNB), where he coordinates the Picos Paleontology Laboratory (LPP), the Natural Sciences Research Group of the Semiarid Region of Piauí (NUPECINAS) and the Paleontological Research Group in Inland Basins of the Northeast. He is the editor-in-chief of the journal Biosphere Scientific Communications and a professor in the Graduate Program in Geology at the Federal University of Ceará (UFC). He has published several scientific articles, books and book chapters nationally and internationally, and is also interested in research and knowledge production in the fields of history and education.
